Com DEALL Expands its Activities and Services
We are pleased to announce that with support from the Navajbai RatanTata Trust, Mumbai, we are now expanding our work at The Com DEALL Trust, Bangalore to scale up our clinical services and initiate training in Early Intervention.
We are offering:
a.>Training courses: Formal training programs at the ‘post graduate’ and ‘certificate’ levels will be initiated. A training unit will be set up in order to facilitate training of more professionals in the area of early intervention.
- Post graduate diploma program: PG diploma in ‘early intervention’, a ten month program will be initiated with emphasis on the Com DEALL intervention model.
- Certificate programs: These programs are intended for professionals from different disciplines as well as parents. These programs will be of 5 days each and will cover all aspects of the DEALL early intervention model and program.
- Short term training programs (training of trainers) in specific areas such as motor development, communication and social development, will be offered for specific professional groups.
- Awareness programs: of different durations, will be conducted to enhance awareness regarding early identification and intervention for children with ASD, among related professionals, schools and the general public.
b. Strengthening the Clinical program: Additional clinical programs such as the Pre DEALL Program and the Social Communication Program, the School Network and the Family Mediated Intervention Program will be tried out, formalized and documented.
- Pre DEALL Program will address the needs of very young children with an emphasis on pre requisite learning skills and sensory motor issues.
- The Social Communication group will address the difficulties of children in using appropriate developmental skills in social setups, including schools. Children who are integrated in regular schools but continue to have difficulties in socialization will receive additional support, two to three times a week.
- School Network - A network of schools will be built in order to assist the children, who have received EI at Com DEALL, to settle down in regular schools by addressing the issues faced by the class teacher.
- Family Mediated Intervention Programs: Will address the needs of children who require our intervention but are unable to access it on a regular basis. Home training programs with regular monitoring on a weekly basis will be tried out.
Com DEALL Partners Trained:
The new Com DEALL Partner units in Bangalore (Octave Hearing and Speech Centre) and Gwalior (ROSHNI) have been trained intensively for two weeks in October 2011. These centers are presently functional and continue to enroll children in their units.
